Nurturing Parenting & Special Needs Program
Primary prevention education program targeting families at risk of abuse and neglect to increase parent’s knowledge, skill and provide support. Every $ 1000 raised supports a family in our 20-week parent education program designed to break the cycle of child abuse in families.
Speak Up Be Safe Education Program
This child safety program that addresses child, abuse, bully, and sexual harassment prevention in school, home, and community. Students in 1st-8th grade are taught how to keep themselves safe by learning to identify and respond to community/family violence, child abuse, bullying, cyberbullying and sexual harassment (for the 5th – 8th graders) both in person and online. Students are taught to identify a safe adult who will believe them, keep them safe and report the abuse. Students are taught about safe and unsafe situations. Every $ 750 raised will support students in a classroom in Richmond schools.
Sue Fleischner Special Needs Fund
The fund is intended to avert a crisis that might lead to child abuse or neglect for an at-risk family. This money will be used for transportation to social service programs/medical appointment, a safe crib or a safe stroller or a food gift card. Every $ $100.00 raised provides a necessary resource to a family at risk of abuse or neglect to reduce the circumstantial family violence that can occur when basic needs cannot be met.
